Dear Cedar Woods Families,

Our amazing Team pulled together today and we are successfully serving all meals to our Residents in their own Apartments! STAY HOME, STAY SAFE guidelines are implemented.

As many of you know, Protecting our Residents and Team Members is our highest priority, as Cedar Woods Assisted Living voluntarily closed our doors to the families/public/visitors before the State Order to do so.

Cedar Woods has stopped admitting new Residents since voluntarily closing our doors March 12th, 2020. However, for our ‘current’ Residents who were at the Emergency Room, Rehabilitation stay or Hospital stay, it is mandated by our laws that the Resident return. Cedar Woods Assisted Living is their home, their apartment and their ‘Resident Right’ to return.

Today, March 26, 2020, It is with great frustration and sadness, we are informing our Cedar Woods Families & Friends, we have 1 Resident who has tested positive to COVID-19.

This particular Resident has been under isolation in a PRIVATE APARTMENT since returning from the Hospital. We have provided staff with proper PPE equipment to treat this Residents (I.E. gowns, gloves, masks, styrofoam plates, cups, utensils that are directly thrown into a BIO-HAZARD WASTE BARREL). We are following Universal Precautions and hand washing, which is our best defense to defeat the Coronavirus. Our Wellness Team continues to monitor Residents, taking vitals, and following CDC guidelines and reporting to their Physician.

In efforts to stay ahead of a ‘possible’ case of COVID-19, we started making room changes Monday, March 16th, 2020. These efforts were voluntary by our Management, these key room changes allowed us to make space for an ISOLATION area if needed. This time is reluctantly here.

As a nation we will defeat COVID-19, please do your part, STAY HOME, STAY SAFE, and stay six feet apart.

Our Cedar Woods Team Members, in every department, are working around the clock to care for your loved one. The State of Michigan has declared that individuals whose work is “necessary to sustain or protect life” shall continue working. At Cedar Woods, our fundamental mission at this time is to sustain and protect life, we will continue to work 24-7 for our Residents.

Please support our Cedar Woods Team during this challenging nationwide pandemic.
